The Blessing of Abraham

The Law requires perfect obedience:

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Since the Law is weak through the flesh, in that it relies on our flesh, God Himself provided the solution for us:

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

The result of what Christ did is that we inherit the blessing of Abraham:

Gal 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We become heirs of the promise made to Abraham.

Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This promise is inherited by becoming an imitator of Abraham, by having the faith that he had:

Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

Thus, the Law and faith are opposites:

Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Not only are we children of Abraham, but we are children of God:

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
