Islam borrowed a lot of the Christian views of the End Times but perverted the truths from the Christian faith. One particular point of difference is what happens when Christ returns.
For Muslims, Christ, at His return, will lead an army and fight wars against HIs enemies. From Grok:
The Second Coming of Jesus
Muslims believe that Jesus will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment. This belief is rooted in several Hadith and supported by interpretations of certain Qur’anic verses (e.g., Qur’an 4:159 and 43:61). His return is seen as one of the major signs of the approaching Day of Judgment.
- Not a New Revelation: Unlike his first coming, Jesus will not bring a new divine law or scripture. Instead, he will follow the Sharia (Islamic law) established by the Prophet Muhammad, as Islam considers Muhammad to be the final prophet.
- Role as a Just Leader: Upon his return, Jesus is expected to descend in Damascus (specifically near a white minaret, as per some traditions) during a time of great turmoil. He will lead the believers as a just ruler, uniting them against evil forces.
The Christian view of the Second Coming is quite different. Christ does not lead an army to fight. When Christ returns all of His enemies are destroyed at the Coming. There is no protracted military campaign. This is based on many passages such as these from the Old and New Testament.
Malachi 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
2 Thes 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
The beauty of having both OT and NT passages which say the same thing is that it avoids the charge of corruption of the texts. The Jews would have no motivation to corrupt the OT texts to favor the Christian take.
The Muslims are being set up to follow Antichrist. They will not be able to distinguish Christ from the Antichrist since they have a false view of what Christ does at His Coming.
