I know two parishes well.
The city parish is near several top tier universities. Catechumen classes are on Wednesday nights, but only during the school year. The cradle priest says he’ll meet with you privately but frequently cancels meetings because Catechumens are at the bottom of his priority list. During finals week the Catechumens number 3-4. Normally they are 5-20. They are not brought forward to be prayed for in the Catechumen prayers. There’s no inquirers phase. The food is better at the cradle parish.
The suburban parish is 25 miles away from the city. Catechumen classes are on Saturday afternoons so we can stay for Vespers Sat evening. The convert priest is very available and rarely cancels meetings because Catechumens are at the top of his priority list. He will meet with me for hours. 110 average attendance and 14 Catechumens. We are brought forward to be prayed for in the Catechumen prayers. There’s a 3-6 month inquirers phase.
You can see why I attend the suburban parish. It’s also closer.
