Lectionary Text – Rom 8:1-11<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Series: Help for the helpless<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Message: No Condemnation<\/span>

<><\/o:p>Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. <\/o:p><\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

v1 – No condemnation for those in Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We have been told the mosquito is the state bird of MN <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

o <\/span><\/span><\/span>Are mosquitos then in flocks at sunset?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The mosquito illustrates the power of the flesh<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

o <\/span><\/span><\/span>Mosquito is a very small bug<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Yet the mosquito can control a very large person<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Sends a group of people running<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>As Christians we have the power to overcome sin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Before coming to Christ, we were helpless<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Our help has come<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking at the text verse 1<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>therefore = based on the previous points in the previous chapters<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The overall case that Paul is making<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>because we are <\/b>saved by grace …<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>because justification is by faith and not by the works of the Law<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

there is now no condemnation <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>At the very last moment a call comes in from the governor granting a pardoned<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Not because we were found to be innocent<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>But because of pure mercy<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>There are no more wonderful words than to have no condemnation<\/o:p><\/u><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>This was back in Romans 5\u2026<\/o:p><\/u><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Rom 5:1 <\/span>Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,<\/span> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

for those who are in Christ Jesus<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Not all people are justified<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the law of the Spirit of life <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Unusual usage of the phrase \u201cLaw of the Spirit of Life\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We usually think of the spirit in contrast to the Law<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>In Paul\u2019s writings, “Law” usually refers to the Old Testament Law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Law of the Spirit of Life is the Spirit Himself<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Important to remember that the Holy Spirit is not a principle<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Holy Spirit is a person<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The third person of the Holy Trinity<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Trinity – The Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God. There is only one God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

in Christ Jesus <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>This phrase \u201cin Christ\u201d again<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Identity – who are you?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>As Christians, we are in the process of discovering our identity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We wrongly think of ourselves as individuals.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We ought rather to think of ourselves as being a part of something bigger \u2013 the body of Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>For many people the 1960s and 70s were a search for identity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The children of those people who were trying to “find themselves” in the 1970s face the consequences of that search today.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The search to “find themselves” took people far and wide – many away from their Christian heritage.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Beatles are a good example of this<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Did any of them become Christians?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Paul uses “in Christ” 8 times in the book of Romans.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Paul uses the phrase more than fifty times in his letters<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>He uses the phrase “in Christ” three times in significant passages in Romans<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Rom_3:24<\/span><\/u> – redemption is “in Christ”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Rom_6:11<\/span><\/u> – consider yourselves to be dead to sin “in Christ”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Rom_6:23<\/span><\/u> – eternal life is the free gift of God found “in Christ”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The phrase “in Christ” is the key to the reality of our identity as Christians.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>To say that the church is the body of Christ is to say quite a bit about us and Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>You could meditate on the phrase and never come to the end of the meditation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The search for who we are can only properly be ended by finding our place “in Christ”.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>First you find out who He is, then you find your place in Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

has set you free from the law of sin and of death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law of the Spirit is set in contrast to the Law of sin and death. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>If you have the Holy Spirit in you, then you have been set free from sin and death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Are they equal and opposites?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Things are never equal and opposite when it comes to God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>There were slaves at the end of the Civil War who chose to stay on the land of their masters.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>They are freed by they kept acting as if they are slaves.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We do not have to be slaves to sin any longer if we have been freed by Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We need to stop acting like we are slaves.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

v3 – The Law was weak and could not save<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For what the Law could not do<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law did not have in it the ability to give eternal life<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Gal <\/span>3:21<\/span><\/st1:time> Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? May it never be!
For if a law had been given which was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law was never intended to give eternal life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law only had a downside. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>If a person did not keep the Law they were lost.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Those who kept the Law were never promised eternal life for keeping the Law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

weak as it was through the flesh<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law was not inherently flawed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law came from God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law is the revelation of the will of God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law is perfect, holy and true.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>But the Law was weak<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law required humans to participate.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>That’s where the weakness is found.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

God did<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>God was the one who put the Law into place<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>God was not surprised by the inherent weakness of the Law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The weakness of the Law was known even in the creation of the Law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>There was provision for human failure in the law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The law provided a sacrificial system for sin offering.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>But as <\/span>Heb_10:1<\/span><\/u> points out even that system had weaknesses.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Heb 10:1-3 <\/span><\/b>For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near.
Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?
But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The system required repetitious offerings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Jesus appeared at the right time and place.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>After the destruction of the temple in 70 AD there was no longer a place for sacrifice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>It took God to do the thing that made us righteous.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>God’s requirement was righteousness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Law could not make a person permanently righteous.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>It took a sacrifice on God’s part since God is the only truly righteous Being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The sacrifice of Christ is sufficient for all time and for all people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We don’t continue to re-sacrifice Jesus.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

sending His own Son<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>God sent His own pure and holy Son to pay the price for sin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>This was pointed to way back before the Law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>God asked Abraham to take His Son, Isaac and sacrifice Him on <\/span>Mount<\/span><\/st1:placetype> <\/span>Moriah<\/span><\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>This was done as a shadow of what was to come.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>2200 years later, God sent His Son to die on the very same hillside.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the likeness of sinful flesh<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>This verse has been difficult for some to understand.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The flesh is not inherently evil.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Jesus was in the flesh but did not live according to the flesh.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Jesus faced the same temptations because He was in the body just like we are.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Jesus was not a puppet for God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Jesus overcame these real temptations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The three temptations were both real and significant<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Hunger<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Desire to have a sign\/wonder to easily convince the Jews<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>To be given the entire world<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We do not face temptations of this scale.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>It’s not just the death of Christ that gives us power over sin, but the life of Christ that gives us power.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Great mystery here.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Jesus had to be in the flesh to die for our flesh.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and as an offering for sin<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Old Testament had offerings for sin, but they had to be repeated showing their weakness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The sacrifice of Jesus is a human sacrifice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Jews were forbidden to sacrifice humans.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The pagan nations sacrificed children and adults.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The sacrifice of a human was to only be Jesus – unique in <\/span>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He condemned sin in the flesh.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We were the ones who deserved to be condemned. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Rather than condemning us, God condemned sin itself.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>This was a might big cost.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>It cost God His only Son.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

v4 – The requirements of the Law are fulfilled in the believer<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

so that the requirement of the Law <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>All of the translations have issues with this passage<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>GNT “<\/span>\u03c4\u03bf\u0300 \u03b4\u03b9\u03ba\u03b1\u03b9\u0301\u03c9\u03bc\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf\u03c5\u0342 \u03bd\u03bf\u0301\u03bc\u03bf\u03c5 <\/span>“<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We all get sick,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We will all die,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>but the life of God in the body of the believer is a reality, too!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Our bodies are given life by God here and now.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We are not completely done with sin or sickness, but we are not powerless over either.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>In Christ we have victory in both areas.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ultimate victory is in the eternal state.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Our bodies won’t get sick and we won’t die there.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

through His Spirit who dwells in you<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>People try cosmetic surgery.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>There is only one source of life for your mortal bodies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The life of Christ in you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Even if the mind was set on the flesh it would still not make a person righteous.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>How do you know if you are Christ’s?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>After all, we all do sin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>A simple test is:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>If you do not belong to Christ, then you don’t care about this point at all.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The things of God are foolishness to you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>1 Cor <\/span>1:18<\/span><\/st1:time> For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>It is only if you are Christ’s that the tension of this point is significant to you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Failure and recognition of that failure is a good sign.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>A battle present in the mind with sin is a good sign of life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>If there is no battle then there is no hope.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>If there is a battle then you have a hope.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Even if you presently do not yet have victory, do you want victory over sin?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
