This clay prism describes the siege of Jerusalem by King Sennacherib. The text says &#8220;<em>I shut up Hezekiah like a bird in a cage.<\/em>&#8221; This matches the Biblical account of the siege where Sennacherib surrounded the city, but did not defeat Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/kjv\/2ch\/32\/1\/s_399001\">2 Chr 32:1-23<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/bible.gospelcom.net\/cgi-bin\/bible?language=english&amp;version=NASB&amp;passage=2Ki+18%3A13-19%3A37\">2 Kings 18:13-19:37<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/bible.gospelcom.net\/cgi-bin\/bible?language=english&amp;version=NASB&amp;passage=Isa+36%3A1-37%3A38\">Isaiah 36-37<\/a> describes this scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This object can be <a href=\"http:\/\/oi.uchicago.edu\/OI\/MUS\/HIGH\/OIM_A2793.html\">viewed<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/oi.uchicago.edu\/OI\/default.html\">Oriental Institute<\/a> at the University of Chicago.
