The Apostles in Jerusalem Selected Seven Deacons<\/h2>\n

There are two Philips in the Book of Acts. One of them is Philip who is one of the 12 apostles. The other Philip was selected as one of the seven Deacons in Acts 6. <\/p>\n

Act 6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen<\/b>, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip<\/u><\/b>, and Prochorus<\/b>, and Nicanor<\/b>, and Timon<\/b>, and Parmenas<\/b>, and Nicolas <\/b>a proselyte of Antioch:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Of minor note, the first two names are the only ones which have any information about them beyond this Acts 6:5 passage. Stephen is of note as the first martyr of the church and Philip’s evangelistic activities are covered in Acts.<\/p>\n

Acts 8 shows the evangelistic acts of Philip including Philip speaking with the Ethiopian Eunuch. <\/p>\n

Philip AKA Philip the Evangelist was one of the seven deacons<\/h2>\n

Acts 21 lets one separate out Philip the Deacon\/Evangelist from Philip the Apostle<\/p>\n
